Self Objectification - August 2, 2012

In learning digital art, I've recently done a couple of self portraits and noticed that the face becomes another object of painterly observation without emotional or self conscious interest. A thing of interest and beauty as all things studied closely become. Makes me wonder if this sort of activity would be a good way of practicing self compassion.
