Repetition - June 6, 2013

What is it about a theme, a meme, repeated with slight variation that attracts? Is it the drawing into subtlety, minimal contrast? Variation of light, color, and most everything else is relative to that in the field of context. Small contrasts then become more noticeable. Do our neurons crave fine differences as a source of exploration? They take these and play with them in our brains, not as representations of form but as forms of play.
