And Now They Are Three ..... Officially - December 9, 2011

In this crazy time where liberal senators vote to curtail the bill of rights (SB1867), and police forcibly arrest peaceful occupiers, we had some blessed relief from the insanity at the heartwarming adoption ceremony where Scott and Scott officially became a family with Azaria (who would steal anyone's heart away in an instant). 

The warm and sunny family court section of the San Francisco Civic Courthouse was atwitter with cheerful sounds of children, gentle laughter, people gathering for photos, and general merry making for Adoption Wednesday, a day appreciated by courthouse staff as well who generally see the very sad side of family court.

Azaria and her Daddy and Bubba give me hope for a future where families look like love in action, where gender, color, ability are not deciding factors, rather how we care for one another defines our family units. I learned that I have become a Great Aunt - what can be better than that!

The sun was glorious all day long, a rare and special treat in December in San Francisco, where it seemed the whole town was smiling with us.
