Women Rising - March 8, 2018

It's International Womens' Day today as women are striking in Spain, and the Arcata Playhouse is celebrating all week with the O2F - Zero to Fierce Festival. 

Yesterday Joan Shirle presented on The Life Boat Project by Danish sculptor Marit Benthe Norheim, consisting of three sculpted women ships loaded with Longing, Life, and Memories.



Shirle has had 18 masks made to reflect the faces of the women on the elder boat and will use them in an art piece hopefully in Europe.

They were worn yesterday by women in the audience.
