Releasing Labels - April 11, 2011

Walking through redwoods listening to Marion Woodman, The Crown of Age, I resonate with the imperative of questioning, who am I, what is my task, other than roles and labels. As I contemplate the meaning of art-making in my life I fiercely want to hold onto the notion to not become ego attached, to not substitute an old label for a newer one, "artist". That would be completely counterproductive to using art-making as a container for exploring these large questions that so occupy my time and energy.
