Adagio - April 25, 2015
I was drawn to attend a string quartet performance last evening and was not disappointed. The parts that usually speak most to me are those slow Adagio, Lento, Largo movements and last night was Samuel Barber and Anton Dvorak providing deep rich sadnesses, old friends. Is this preference in my genes, eastern European ancestry, or just personal? I don't know, just know I resonate, as did seemingly other attendees. There seems a beauty captivated in the context of sad that settles in the cells.
