Life Unravels

I remain absorbed by the knitting of Sokimo and this particular pair was knit for someone I don't know who is a friend of Sarah's, a young woman with a new baby and a forbidding diagnosis. I don't know if it will speak to them but I was compelled to create this little Mama and Baby duo and completely absorbed in the doing of it.

Baby tucks into Mama's mouth.

Reminds me of the Inuit Packing dolls made in various settlements...of duffel wool, embroidered...They always come with a little baby that tucks into a little hood on the back of the doll. I have an Ookpik one..
