Swimming with Ideas - June 17, 2011

Listening to Brian Swimme today I am alive with gratitude for such wise evolutionary ideas as the notion that we are literally related to every living thing (and I would add, non-living as well) and if we lived that way how differently we would treat each other and all the wonders that exist, rather than as resources …. cousins. All of our atoms forged in stars billions of years ago on loan for awhile.

The other huge idea that helps settle down my pushing to figure out how to assist with what should come next, is that the cell couldn't imagine an  animal, a primate can't imagine a human, let alone intentionally evolve to one, and a human can't imagine what will come next - the innate tools are not sufficient. So glorying and working on that which moves me in service of goodness, truth, and beauty seems like a good place from which to work for now.
