A Bantu word with layers of meaning including human kindness, embraced and promulgated by Nelson Mandela, a source himself, for all of us to feel the uplift of shear human potential manifest as integrity, courage, honesty, kindness, clear sighted determination for goodness, justice, and love. As the world mourns his loss we also bow to the reality of his embodied spirit of human dignity and worth and appreciate his achievement of excellence under unfavorable conditions. May we aspire to this great goodness.
