Connected Through Love - July 5, 2014

As we enjoy the sublime music of Bach and others at the Oregon Bach Festival and appreciate the skills and creativity of the composers and musicians I am touched by what it takes to get each one to this moment of fruition. The lineage of ancestors, artists, family members, teachers, instrument makers, the vast creative impulses employed to bring them to new interpretations and visions of older works is breathtaking in the unbrokenness of connections needed to arrive. I am suffused with gratitude in these concerts that link not only performers to audience but also reach back through generations, millennia even, into the core of creativity itself.
