Inspire
Last night the Swingposium had their first night of local performances at the Bayside Hall, a unique blend of HSU Jazz band swing tunes on stage, dancing on the floor with people in forties styles and improv actors bringing Japanese Internment Camp realities to bear in the sad circumstances ... and then would come a conversation with Taiko Drummers. What a heart rending, joyous, inspiring event it was where audience and performers merged and grooved together.
We are hosting one of the drummers, Alex, front
left in the photo, a wonderful guest he has been. This morning as we were speaking about the show he mentioned that the leader is moved by the notion of "acting to inspire, not impress."
Now if that doesn't just about capture life, I'm not sure what does. Thank you Alex!
