How do so many things go right? - July 29, 2013
As I sit exhausted from nursing my husband with his four fractured ribs and contusions from a bicycle accident, I find that other than a need for sleep, I can only conjure gratitude for all the things that happen without incident in a day, for the smashed helmet and the intact skull, for the finely tuned judgments that we make with regularity that keep us upright and functioning for so long. Experience and living long surely engenders the sense of seeing blessings by the bushel. These events that stop me momentarily in my tracks are like a reset pause that allows a slower seeing of so many wonders.
