I love that this quote is from Camus, the existentialist absurdist, who feels as deeply as any belief system or world view perspective allows.
This evening's performance of St. John's Passion played, sung, conducted, and appreciated with deep emotion ended with the longest sustained, full, resonant silence that I've ever experienced before the longest ovation. Tears poured from conductor, musicians, audience. A jubilation of appreciation enjoyed to the point of tears.
