Shaken and Stirred - March 10, 2014

Last night we were awakened by a 6.9 earthquake 50 miles off the coast and unlike the usual crescendo format this one was a sustained rock and roll for 35 seconds, enough time to have a conversation about what to do, remember the lack of good sheltering places in our bedroom, and wonder about the whereabouts of our son and hoping he was at home in his bedrock connected space. And of course all the while in the back of the mind is the question, "is this the big one?". It was not, but it was a good wake up call and reminder that living on shaky ground brings you right to ground zero in a moment.
