Judging - August 15, 2014
Still scrambling in the studio, awake at night imagining possibility, part scientist, part imaginative explorer, compelled to explore, invent, experiment. Still in show recovery mode, I find myself exploring the meaning of judgment in art. Of course it feels good to have paintings find good homes, very good in fact.
Yet still I find myself most loving the satisfaction that comes with completing a work and knowing that it stands by itself, apart from me, like children, miracles in themselves separate from anything that I've done. And I am in awe of how they impact others.
