Deconstructing

Knitting fever is developing into BIG plans such that I hustled over to the Hospice Shop to look for black t-shirts to cut up, tie together and begin to knit into something sizable. But I was instantly magnetically attracted  to a rack of men's sports coats ... very nice ones, all wool, beautiful herringbone browns and I couldn't resist them.

One jacket yielded two large balls.

So I've changed my strategy and am ripping, tearing, and pulling the jackets apart, cutting the wool outer layer into strips that are then sewn together to make balls of "yarn". All of the interior lining, batting and parts that can't become yarn will be used for stuffing. It's labor intensive but I'm excited. More to be revealed as the project materializes.
