Flowing

After four days hiking and rafting on the wild and scenic section of the Rogue River, I emerge into the garden with excitement for planting many of the native species we observed en route and also sad to return to devices and quite frankly the whole damn mess of things.

We enjoyed this small bear walking along the bank of the river from our raft, though we pushed back as he threatened to jump in and visit our cooler.

There were more species of oak than my little guide suggested and it was fun to collect them to try planting. I didn't realize how colorful some of them are and I lost track of which belongs to the various oaks we identified.
