Too Soon Goodbye - January 28, 2018
Ursula K. le Guin, whom I've only read tangentially through the years has died and that has lead to an invitation to explore her work, initiated in this morning's "Brain Pickings".
Her essay On Being a Man, written in the 80's was updated as the introduction to The Wave in the Mind. It is delicious in the parts provided at the link above and can also be read in its entirety in the preview to The Wave in the Mind. The subsequent essay, Being Taken for Granite, is fabulous too.
A sad but true perspective on being female delivered artfully, humorously, within the context of aging is a fine morsel for contemplation.
And here's a quote from her, relevant to my last post, "Love doesn't just sit there, like a stone, it has to be made, like bread; remade all the time, made new."
