American not so Gothic

I've plunged into Cooperation Humboldt, an interesting local Solidarity economy based group and started connecting with the Food group, today working on a Food not Lawns project which was a hoot.

An entire front yard of grass covered with cardboard, woodchips, manure, and rice straw, lasagna style by about ten people over four hours.

It felt really good - great muscular work out, learned a lot about gardening and local resources and met a bunch of new fine people. What an excellent day.
