Knowing Less - August 6, 2013

Working in the studio and learning craniosacral body work are both good metaphors for the larger picture of my experience. As I age, I find a larger not knowing, an ever greater respect for what I don't and can't know about the body, the ten thousand million ways it functions in a day. As I practice the bodywork, I can feel new things, hands and body respond, but heady knowing is absent.

And in making art there are materials and ideas, and how they interact and morph is mystery and yet it happens repeatedly in all of our lives, as we create our days, our work, design our garden and home, each of us an artist of a life.
