Forest and Trees - September 14, 2013
Having often tried though not often succeeded at painting forests, I decided to give it another try after a recent walk when the back lit glow filtering through layers of trees tugged at my curiosity to imagine waxy layers. So back in the studio, things always change and I found myself trying out a tree stencil that I'd cut this past summer and having a great time with the various positive and negative wax imprints of that. This one also includes ink on rice paper. Colors other than just green help the situation, it seems.
