Touched by Emily - December 12, 2014

More gratitude to the modern poetry online course and the recurring references to the foundational importance of Emily Dickinson and Gertrude Stein who bear deep and thoughtful study, especially in the context of later poetry movements. As I listen to the poems and discussions of them by poets, often in the studio, I feel the painting being informed by the poetry in indescribable ways. 

I just know that I am in awe of that art form and the effort and loneliness that it may entail and yet the enrichment that we receive when our interest is so directed. A sort of painting with words ....
