Why Bach Never gets Old - July 10, 2017

Bach Johannes Passion for the umteenth time and another layer of his brilliance is dawning on me, also in the non-duality vein.

The chorus is emotionally fickle, sweet, tender, loving hymns interspersed with angry, even raging calls for crucifixion, followed by laments, and I realize the role of the chorus is the embodiment of human emotion, the entire gamut.
They are like fired up political supporters at a rally.

The Evangelist narrator is witness and conscience, soloists are psychologic aspects of personality and characters in the drama, and the orchestra is the response and support to all of this.

It's the whole enchilada of humanity played out over about 90 minutes. It's not just a story, it's THE story, wrapped up in Jesus clothing.
