the ranch

No self respecting farm can be without a worm ranch so I built a DIY one today and placed a pound of red wrigglers and a good bit of their castings to get it going.

Today I rode my bike into town to do business at the hardware store, grocery store, bank, bookstore, and to connect with The Worm Guy in the Credit Union parking lot for the pickup. Carried the critters home in my backpack and hope they weren't traumatized.

the heard hiding below the surface

After placing them atop the new bedding and scraps they disappeared pretty quickly below the surface.

We are heading out for three days tomorrow and it's a good thing to keep me from constantly peeking at them so they can have some time to settle into their new home.
