Homesteading ... that's how I think of my activities these days.
Hanging out on the property, gardening, amending, moving a lot of material around, dealing with sheep heartaches as they munch the young fruit trees, harvesting berries, greens, carrots, brasicas, mulching, composting, reading, learning.
Found a good seam of wood chips at the free pile - hardwood, full of white mycelium and earth worms. I feel like I just won the lottery! Nothing like filling the little farm car with fifteen bags of this stuff and getting a serious workout in the doing.
I go to bed exhausted and happy most such days as this seems to be the antidote to climate despair.
