Garden Gratitude - September 3, 2012

On returning from a recent trip, it was wonderful to plunge into the thick weeds between the robust kales, colorful chards, exuberant broccoli, snappy peas, outrageous pumpkins, and soaring sunflowers. The extravagance of the August garden is almost overwhelming as it vibrates with verdant foliage and serves up flavors and textures unlike anything from a store. Staying in the moment is key. No expectation for next month or even next week maintains enjoyment without succumbing to disappointment about what will come next .... or not.
