Nara and its temples beckoned yet good fortune in the form of Typhoon Jelewat turned us around mid -stride at the temple gates, preventing Zen temple overload for this traveler. Shinkasen train ride back to Tokyo became a prolonged airplane taxi, rumbling speedily sans liftoff. Tokyo Station filled with marooned passengers, with no evidence of distress, simply orderly, patient, serene forbearance.

Arigato Japan, your peaceful hospitality, wabi sabi elegance, and generosity fill me with respect for enduring graceful tradition.
