Water and Fire Puja - October 13, 2012

Morning puja on River Ganga is a riot of people, cows, goats, flowers, water from mother river poured to rising masculine sun in as many devotional ways as there are participants. Bathing, building clay sculptures, flower petals, food, are all part of the event. I am struck by the porosity of boundaries that allow deep internal reflection and meeting the divine in the midst of surrounding chaos, and the ability to slide effortlessly between these realms without taking difficulties personally .......or so it seems.
