To Roast or Not - November 28, 2013

On this special Thanksgivukkah Day we will soon learn whether comet ISON survives its brush with our sun coming within 700,000 miles later this morning. This Manhattan sized lump of ice birthed in the Oort Cloud outside of our solar system is riveting in its unfolding story and if it and we are lucky and it survives perihelion it is due to have a near earth visit on Boxing Day, bringing light to that usually low key day in the holiday calendar. I am touched by this extraterrestrial reminder of our place in the greatness of it all and how much there is to be thankful for.
