Incomplete Measure of Success - September 16, 2014
Evolution is designed for passing on genes to the next generation and that generation surviving to do the same. It's a numbers game until the curve peaks and there is over reach followed by die off. There is no investment in quality of life, it is purely a quantity game and not forward looking. No commitment to any species.
On the other hand, the speed with which we have changed ourselves and the planet is breathtaking and unprecedented here. It is not evolutionary, it is revolutionary and reckless.
As Naomi Klein says we aren't about saving the planet, she needs no saving, and will kick our butts totally - we are about saving ourselves and cooperating with her in order to do that.
So if big brain wants quality or even just continuation it needs to collectively figure this out and fast.
