Black Hole of Belief - July 20, 2016

Sean Carroll's new book The Big Picture: On the Origins of Life, Meaning, and the Universe Itself is an interesting read that includes perspectives on how we know and believe things. And as we are entrenched in the middle of an intense political season it is easy to feel what he means by a black hole of belief - where our convictions are so strong that we can never escape, no matter what kind of new insight or information we obtain.

A media holiday seems in order to try to avoid getting too close to those black holes, whatever their orientations. Sigh...
