Rocky Passes - September 10, 2016

Today was a day of multiple rocky scree grey/while dolomite passes interspersed with high plain where live chamois, rare European wildlife which alas, we did not see, only the high browsing sheep. An early morning grotto of animalistic rocky outcroppings set the tone for a magical day that ended in rain, rainbows, hail on arrival at the rifugio, followed by a thunder storm, hearty warm meal, good wine, and cozy bed. Who could ask for anything more? This was the last big hiking day.
