Caking Up - June 21, 2017

Summer solstice seems like a great time to make next year's fruit cakes, and they are looking good. 

This time, dried garden pears, apricots, cranberries, walnuts and pecans with citrus, honey, spices and grand marnier.

The house smells wonderful. They are now safely wrapped and tucked in for a few months rest under the bed where it is cool and dark, only to be unwrapped for occasional feedings. Can't wait!
