Madonna of the Mushrooms - May 29, 2018

As I wandered a little off the tourist route into a previously industrialized and Soviet area of Tallinn being revivified, I happened upon a tiny church and was beckoned in by the volunteer.



It turned out to be a Ukrainian Catholic church full of icons and pysanka. 


I have never seen madonnas surrounded by biological specimens as if she were in a page from a biology text book. It made me realize we come by our gardening interests and skills naturally. And to have a church put eggs on display, is well ... heart warming.
