Dance Puja - October 17, 2012

Bubaneswar, another Shiva town, greeted us with palatial splendor in the form of a Bollywood type hotel, with a spacious room and thick, opulent carpet that I blessed with a long, sweaty dance session.......finally. The day was filled with goddess temples or at least goddess stonework everywhere, including the 11th century dancer below.

May I direct your eyes to Google the early Buddhist stupas in Sanchi? I have always particularly loved the sculptures of Yakshis there: fertility Goddesses entwined in trees. Thanks for this evocation...
