My friend, Inge, recently gave me the metaphor of tango as conversation and I realized, yes of course, and I need to know the language first before a real conversation can occur, and learning a language is hard, stressful, full of mistakes, and ultimately satisfying for those who become proficient.

I am not one who easily learns spoken languages and am more comfortable in the realm of embodied languages.

Where all of this is going is that I'm cutting myself slack on the relaxation while dancing front knowing it will come as skill, experience, and confidence grow, and seeing as on Sunday that in a mutually supportive community of learners, it is easier to relax and enjoy.
