The New York Times did a story on a man in Canada who chose to die by assisted death in accordance with new laws there. The story is moving and impactful. It also connects me to my homeland including to a friend who knew the man and practices medicine in BC.

I was also touched by some of the Canadian perspectives in responses to the article. Even those who would not choose this for themselves were civil and supportive of the law and of their country. It was refreshing.
