Singing and Meeting in the Rain - October 28, 2011
Today
at Occupy Vancouver in the very cold rain, the free form choir raised
spirits while a consensus meeting mutated in membership and agenda. I
learned how to “stack” at the meeting and appreciated the general regard
for respectful conversation and listening called for by a consensus
process. Only one elderly man got angry and personally confrontational
seemingly intolerant of the process and his not being in charge.
I am impressed and humbled by the young people who seem to have cooperation and collaboration in their bones, which leads me to believe in significant social evolution in action as they didn’t get it from the last generation or from their genes.
