Traffic Dharma - Sept. 29 2011

As I left Eugene today I came upon an overhead sign advising Use Caution Expect Delays, so armed with this good idea I approached the first slow down area and said to myself, this must be time for traffic meditation. It didn’t last long, at least seemingly so, and I continued on my way in a spirit of good fortune and low expectation for anything other than what was. I held the feeling of appreciation for this wise teaching throughout my lovely day of travel down the Columbia River Gorge, where I missed a turn off by 30 miles, and contrary to my usual irritation about such misfirings, I just turned around and appreciated the view from the other direction.

I was grateful for this wisdom offered by the Oregon Department of Transportation.
