New Record - October 30, 2017
We seem to be in a continuous cycle of record breaking, not only for stupidity and corruption in politics but ever increasing bad news on environmental conditions.
I support an organization called 360.org named because 360 ppm is the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere that we don't want to pass to stay in a safe range for climate disruption.
The news today is that in the year 2016 not only did we pass 403 ppm of CO2 in the atmosphere (highest known for over 800,000 years) but the rate of increase is also increasing. We are breaking records all over the place!!! And all of this in spite of decreased emissions. We'd better start getting used to the positive feedback loops we are witnessing, where increases only lead to more increases. They will continue to take this planet on one crazy roller coaster ride of climate chaos. And to think, one species can take credit for this mess.
