The Trees - October 3, 2017

The sun kissed Vancouver Island Arbutus and evergreens outside my window this morning don't mind. They don't mind sun, wind, rain, noise, dark, light, cutting, chopping, they just stand there in grace until they no longer do.

This is exactly what the redwoods in my neighborhood do as well, whether they have the blue dot of impending death painted on them or not. I can feel it as I walk by, their noble calm presence.

May I feel this love and drink it in, this gift of grief that opens my heart to beauty and suffering around me.
